VELLORE: The Tamil Nadu government has decided to receive relief materials and financial aid for the Sri Lankan Tamils affected by the on-going war in Sri Lanka, through the District Collectors, and send them to the affected Tamils in that country.

Vellore Collector Dharmendra Pratap Yadav said in a release that rice, dhal, cereals, new dresses, woollen, blankets, and unexpired essential drugs alone would be received as contributions in kind. Persons interested in giving assistance by cash could do so by giving cheques or demand drafts drawn in favour of `Sri Lankan Tamils Relief Fund’ to the Collector and obtain acknowledgement for the same. — Special Correspondent
