World Vision India, a development and advocacy organisation, has distributed relief materials to over 500 families in the flood-ravaged Uttarakhand.

According to a press release, dry ration (25 kg of rice, 5 kg of wheat flour, oil, lentils, sugar and salt) was donated along with toys and study material for children in the villages of Silli, Bhatwadi, Chamoli and Jaagot in the presence of Shaila Rani Rawat, Member of the Legislative Assembly from Kedarnath constituency.

Kunal Shah, head–humanitarian and emergency affairs, World Vision India, said that the organisation was part of a coalition of non-governmental organisations focusing on addressing the needs of the people through livelihood and child protection initiatives.
