T.S. Sridhar monitors release of funds to ryots’ bank accounts

T.S. Sridhar, Commissioner for Revenue Administration (CRA), monitored the disbursement of relief among farmers who lost samba crop in the district for the second consecutive day on Friday.

Dr. Sridhar visited the primary agricultural cooperative societies (PACSs) in Keezhaiyur, Neermunai, Tiruvidaimaruthur in Nagapattinam revenue division on Friday and made enquiries with the officials and farmers on the progress of the relief disbursement.

The state government has sanctioned Rs.272.23 crore to Nagapattinam district as relief for about one lakh farmers.

The amount is directly credited into the bank accounts of the farmers. The government has directed the officials to complete the disbursement at the earliest. The visit of Dr. Sridhar is to speed up the same.

The farmers of Keezhaiyur, Karunkanni, Venmanachery panchayats received the relief at the Keezhaiyur PACS while farmers of Neermurai, Nathapallam, and Puthur panchayats got the relief at Neermunai PACS. The society at Tiruvidaimaruthur disbursed relief to the farmers of Pannatheru and Koothangudi panchayats.

Mr. Sridhar inspected the disbursement work in the PACS in Mayiladuthurai, Kuthalam, and Sirkazhi taluks in Mayiladuthurai revenue division.

The farmers were provided the orders for the relief after they submitted the required forms and bank account details instantly.
