Expanding its broadband coverage, Reliance Communications Limited, a flagship company of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, launched the superfast wireless broadband internet service – ‘Reliance Netconnect+' here on Wednesday.

Available in both Postpaid and Prepaid platforms, the wireless broadband internet service will offer download speed up to 2.4 Mbps, while the connecting speed is 3.1 Mbps. The price of the USB modem for laptops and desktops in Postpaid and Prepaid platforms is Rs.2,299 with different tariff plans.

Reliance Netconnect+ will soon cover Karur, Pudukottai, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Karaikal towns.

Addressing the media here, Subhash Rao, Circle Head, Reliance Communications, Madurai said the wireless broadband internet service had been launched in 12 major towns in Tamil Nadu till now adding that plans were afoot to expand the service to 81 more towns across the State before December.

The service is currently available in places including Chennai, Chengalpat, Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur, Vellore, Madurai, Puducherry and Salem. Existing Reliance customers who were already using the earlier version of the Reliance Netconnect service could upgrade their USB modem to enjoy the benefits of the newly expanded service, he said.

The company's Hub Data Lead – Marketing Tamil Nadu and Kerala V.Baktha Sabari Rajan said the USB modem would be available in Reliance showrooms and multi-brand mobile retail outlets.
