The All India Forward Block has appealed to Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa to relax the restrictions imposed by the Ramanathapuram police during the Thevar guru puja on October 30.

In a letter to Ms.Jayalalithaa, State secretary of the AIFB S. Dinakaran said the restrictions enforced this year by the police and the local administration were stringent. The party had criticised the government order prohibiting flex boards, use of hired vehicles to transport people, padayatras and carrying memorial torches from other districts to Pasumpon.

Seeking its early intervention in the matter, he requested the State government to relax the restrictions.
