Work towards giving quality education, teachers told

CHENNAI: An orientation programme was organised for science teachers at the M.G.R. Adarsh Public Higher Secondary School, Mogappair, last week to refresh their knowledge to meet changing student requirements.

Inaugurating the programme, N. Latha the chief educational officer, Tiruvallur district, said that teachers must work towards providing quality education.

They must develop the urge to learn more to be at par with the techno-savvy students of today.

The educational advisor of Adarsh Group of institutions, N. Lalitha stressed the need for making classroom sessions interesting by providing students with information beyond the curriculum.

D.P. Sankaran, former Chemistry professor at Loyola College; Kingsley, Head of the Department of Botany; T.S. Natarajan, Physics, IIT and Mohammed Ismail, Head of Department of Zoology, New College shared their experiences in the field of Science.

They highlighted the fact that important concepts can be taught through simple methods.

Aruna Appaswamy, Principal of M.G.R Adarsh school also participated in the programme.
