CUDDALORE: The Tamil Nadu Government Employees’ Union has voiced its opposition to the proposal to fill up vacancies in government departments with retired employees.

In a statement on Friday, K.Balasubramanian, president of the union, said that such a move would deny employment opportunities to the young persons and thus lead to social problems. The union condemned the practice of filling up regular posts with employees recruited on a contract basis, he added.
