TIRUCHI: ‘En vazhkayin sila natkal,' read the tagline of the film ‘Veluthukattu,' slated for release on June 25. Veteran director and producer of the movie, S.A. Chandrasekaran, says the story was inspired by incidents that took place in his life.
New faces Kathir and Arundathi have played the lead roles in the movie, directed by debutant Senapathimagan. Sukumar has cranked the camera.
“I was toying with an idea of writing my autobiography when Senapathimagan, who worked as an assistant director in couple of my movies, came up with the idea of making a film on the subject,” Mr. Chandrasekaran recalled.
Heaping rich praise on the lead pair and other actors in the movie, Mr. Chandrasekaran observed that the youngsters have it in them to make it big in the tinsel town. Bharani is the music director and the audio of the movie was released by actor Vijay at a function organised in Chennai recently.
“The film will be a thorough entertainer and has all the ingredients to succeed in the box office,” Mr. Senapathimagan said.
Mr. Chandrasekaran introduced the lead pair of the film along with other new faces in the movie, Archana Sharma and Bhavina, at a function here on Friday. A. Joseph Francis, president, Tiruchi District Film Distributors Association, and R.K. Raja, president, Tiruchi District Ilayathalapathy Vijay Welfare Association, were present.
