Collector T.N. Hariharan on Saturday urged the people to develop reading habit to improve their knowledge.

Speaking at a function organised here as part of ‘National Library Week' celebration on Saturday, he said though improving knowledge was an endless effort, the reading habit would certainly update them on various aspects including day-to-day affairs, politics, economics, scientific development and many more.

Each book contained innumerable information, most of them needed for betterment of life.

Those who acquired good knowledge had succeeded in their career.

Mr. Hariharan added that there was no need for people to be proficient in languages to read books.

Mere knowledge on reading was enough to acquire more knowledge. Thanks to the efforts of the Government, libraries had been opened in all parts of the State including villages. Hence, people should utilise the available opportunities to update their knowledge.
