Better discipline on roads

It is heartening to see better discipline on the roads in the town area these days. The police department deserves to be congratulated for the same.

One would also request the authorities concerned to tame the drivers of autorickshaws, private buses and government vehicles. The last mentioned ferry our administrators at break neck speeds through congested roads, their hands never off the horns. The fact that the Supreme Court has recently frowned upon the use of red lights atop government vehicles goes on to reaffirm that the common man deserves better treatment on our roads.

Smoking in Public Places

Though there is a rule which bans smoking in public places the Pondicherry bus stand frequently witnesses people who smokes inside the bus stand thereby creating disturbance to the public and children especially. Will the government check this?
