Movies on buses

It has now become a practice to screen films in moffussil buses with the help of DVD players.

The sound is kept in a high volume, which causes hardships to the passengers.

The passengers, especially aged people, find it difficult to have a smooth journey.

The crew show little response to the objections raised by passengers.

Because of the high volume the request of the passengers also could not be heard by the crew.

Hence, the transport authorities and police officers should take immediate action to put an end to this menace in buses.

Mosquito menace

Owing to the recent heavy rains, mosquito population has increased alarmingly in Madurai.

The Madurai Corporation should take immediate steps to eradicate mosquito menace before it is too late.

AIR programme

The All India Radio, Madurai, is wasting their precious time through some programmes like `Malligai Thendral' in the evening during weekdays.

It is intended for participation of the listeners of a wider circle through telephone and now the circle has shrunk to captive audiences who indulge in idle talk.

The persons who anchor the programmes must have a lot of patience to put up with the idiosyncrasies.

The authorities shall consider broadcasting some social programmes along with cinema songs to enliven the listeners during evening hours.

Autorickshaw fare

Autorickshaw and taxi drivers pester the train passengers who come out of Madurai railway station. There is none to regulate them. It will be a great relief if pre-paid autorickshaw or taxi facility is provided. The authorities should standardise the fare for the benefit of both the public and drivers.
