At international goodwill and friendship meeting in Thailand
TIRUCHI: A group of members of the Rotary Club of Tiruchi Midtown (Rotary International district 3000) underwent a rare experience when they participated in an international goodwill and friendship meeting along with the members of the Rotary Club of Takshin-Pattaya, Pattaya City, Thailand (RI district 3340) at the tourist spot of Pattaya recently.
The highlight of the joint meeting was the exchange of flags of both the clubs by the respective presidents, Dinesh P. Khanna of the Rotary Club of Tiruchi Midtown and Charles R. Evans of the Rotary Club of Takshin-Pattaya, before the beginning of the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dinesh Khanna explained the 92 projects his club had executed in the last six months in and around Tiruchi city. He handed over a copy of the projects report and the half yearly bulletin of the cub to the president of the host club.
The members of the Pattaya Club who gave a patient hearing were full of praise for the projects being implemented by the Tiruchi Club for uplifting the poor and downtrodden.
Mr. Charles Evans presented his club's Yearly Mirror to Mr. Khanna. About 45 members from both the clubs who attended the international meeting enjoyed the evening. It was a most enjoyable and memorable meeting where the ability to enjoy the camaraderie and friendship among Rotarians from two different cultures, two different countries was relished.
According to Mr. Khanna, this was the maiden international meeting of any Rotary Club in RI district 3000 so far this year.
