CHENNAI: Sri Srinivasa Niketanam, a Chennai-based non-profit charitable organisation, is constructing `Ramanuja Yogavanam' at Thirumalai Vaiyavur near Chennai, at an estimated cost of Rs.75 lakh.
The Yogavanam will contain a massive meditation hall and two shrines dedicated to Navagraha Vinayakar and Garuda.
The meditation hall will cover 10,000 sq.ft. and will be built to accommodate 1,000 people at the same time.
Inside the hall, small shrines of 1,000 sq.ft. will be dedicated to Lord Srinivasa and Madhuravalli Thayar. Meditation and yoga classes, cultural shows and festivals will be held in the meditation hall.
"The Ramanuja Yogavanam is nearing completion. The meditation hall will be inaugurated in January next year," Sri Seetharama Swamigal, founder of the Srinivasa Niketanam, said.
