They raise slogans condemning State government
Pattali Makkal Katchi cadre resorted to a road blockade in Erode on Wednesday protesting against the arrest of party founder Dr. S. Ramadoss.
Cadres blocked the traffic that was moving on the Sathy road as part of their agitation.
They squatted on the road and raised slogans condemning the State government for arresting the party leader.
Mr. Ramadoss was arrested on Tuesday in Viluppuram district for defying prohibitory orders and attempting to hold a protest to demand an inquiry in the April 25 violence at Marakkanam near Chennai. A court later sent him to judicial custody for 15 days.
Agitators wanted the government to release Mr. Ramadoss and party leaders immediately.
Police arrested as many as 10 members of the party for staging the road block.
Traffic on the road was affected for a short period during the agitation.
