DHARMAPURI: Rallies and awareness programmes have been planned to mark World Hand Wash Day on Wednesday in all the urban and rural towns in Dharmapuri district.

A press release by Collector P. Amutha said that the focus of the programmes will be to educate children, teachers and general public on the 12 points to be followed to develop clean habits and live healthy.

There are 1,156 schools in the district. Teachers have been asked to apprise the students about hand washing during morning assembly and they should participate in the rallies.

In Dharmapuri district only 16 schools do not have toilet facilities and 32 schools do not have drinking water facilities, the Collector said.
