Rallies, meetings mark May Day celebrations

Various trade unions hoist flags across the districts

Hoisting of flags, rallies and meetings marked the May Day celebrations in the two districts on Wednesday. CITU, AITUC, INTUC, LPF and the ruling AIADMK-affiliated trade unions took out rallies to mark the occasion. The CITU and AITUC took out a rally in Hosur, the industrial town in the district. A public meeting was also held at Kamaraj Colony.

Samuelraj, State Vice President, CITU, D. Lenin, State Executive Member, Communist Party of India, S. Vasudevan, District vice-president, CITU, among others spoke on the occasion.

Over 500 employees of Ashok Leyland, TTK, EEson Reroll, Look India, Elforge, Thangam Aluminium, Duroflux and other companies in and around Hosur participated in the rally.

The CPI (M), CPI, DMK, and AIADMK affiliated trade unions hoisted flags across the districts and held gate meetings in front of the government offices and TNSTC depots.
