RAMANATHAPURAM: The Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh on Tuesday visited Muthuramalinga Thevar memorial at Pasumpon near Kamudhi.

Accompanied by S. Thirunavukarasar, national secretary, L. Ganesan, state president, C.P. Radhakrishnan, former State president and Pon. Radhakrishnan, former Minister, he paid floral tributes to the late leader.

The BJP president also visited the house of Mr. Thevar and the exhibition centre.

Mr. Singh said Mr. Thevar was an extra ordinary person in Indian politics.

He was the Bala Gangadhar Tilak of South India.

Asked about the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary, Jayalalithaa’s, demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over T.R. Baalu issue, Mr. Singh said the Prime Minister had to answer about the charges on Baalu in both Houses of the Parliament.
