Coimbatore: Union Minister of Communications and Information Technology and the Nilgiris MP, A. Raja, has appealed to Union Minister of Highways Kamalnath to allocate funds for restoration of rain battered national highways 67 and 47.

In a letter, Mr. Raja pointed out that a majority of the roads in Coimbatore and the Nilgiris were affected by the rain over the last two months.

In the Nilgiris district, NH 67 had been affected at over 150 places due to landslips and at 40 places due to sand erosion. — Staff Reporter
