The failure to complete work on Victoria Extension Road has caused inconvenience to the commuters. Since underground drainage work was in progress, the work could not be taken up by the corporation.

The rainfall, which occurred here over a couple of days ago, hampered the work. As the incomplete stretch of road was waterlogged, traffic congestion was the result

The poor condition of the road raised fears among motorists as potholes could not be spotted in the waterlogged area. Corrective measures should be taken at the earliest, A. Chandran, a commuter said.

The execution of underground drainage works was getting delayed. Though ninety per cent of the works were completed at several localities under corporation limits, the remaining works were posing a challenge for corporation authorities.

Commissioner of Corporation Dinesh Ponraj Oliver said work from VE road would be taken up from Wednesday onwards.
