The Junction Road is considered as city’s entry point
As part of the ongoing construction of foot over bridge at Five Roads Junction, the highways department has installed railings on Junction Road.
The work is under way to construct the Rs. 75-lakh foot over bridge in the city’s chaotic junction point where five arterial roads meet.
Workers have successfully installed railings above the Junction Road and once railings on Omalur Main Road is installed, it will be thrown open to the public, highways department officials said.
Officials said that once it is put to public use, pedestrians can cross the Junction Road and Omalur Main Road without any trouble.
The junction, which is considered as city’s entry point, is thronged by thousands of vehicles from nearby districts everyday and pedestrians find it difficult with increasing traffic. The situation becomes chaotic during evening hours as additional traffic police personnel have to be posted for regulating the traffic.
