MADURAI: All India Congress Committee general secretary Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Madurai Kamaraj University on September 8 to have an interaction with students.
Nearly 700 students of the university and some from affiliated colleges will have an interaction with Mr. Gandhi at 4.30 p.m. The one-hour meeting will take place at the Mu. Va. Hall.
R. Karpaga Kumaravel, Vice-Chancellor, told The Hindu on Saturday that security personnel visited the campus two days ago. “It is a completely non-political meeting and the questions from students will be spontaneous. Mr.Gandhi’s visit is a big event for the MKU.”.
The plan to have Mr. Gandhi for an interaction was discussed with the Principal Secretary for Higher Education Department K. Ganesan after which the personnel in charge of Mr. Rahul Gandhi’s security visited the varsity.
