Orgees' Quizzociates conducts `Memory Lane 2006'
TIRUCHI: The divine town of Srirangam witnessed an intelligence-expo recently when the Orgees' Quizzociates conducted `Memory Lane 2006,' an inter-school quiz competition.
Shanmugha Marriage Hall situated on the bank of river Cauvery, the venue of the competition, was flooded with student-teams from 40 schools from different parts of the district. The preliminary round comprised 30 questions in the written test, besides three visual and two audio rounds.
Rockfort Matriculation School, The Boys Higher Secondary School, Srirangam, St. James Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Akilandeswari High School `A' and `B' and St. John's Vestry Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School were selected for the finals.
V. Rathnakumar was the quizmaster. The finals had question, audio and visual rounds in addition to a very special round `For your eyes only.' Another special round `BOGGLE' was the real stealer. The Rockfort Matriculation School duo of S. Aravind and P. Premkumar emerged victorious in the finals. The Boys Higher Secondary School, Srirangam team, R. Vijayaraghavan and L. Guruprasad, finished runners-up, while St. James Matriculation HSS team of R. Sriram and K. Ajay finished third.
The Station Director of All India Radio, K. Vageesh, and the Headmaster of K.A.P. Viswanatham Higher Secondary School, D. Rajendran, gave away the prizes. Lakshmi Jayaraman and Jayaraman of the Jayalakshmi Cotton Hut, Srirangam, which had sponsored the event, offered felicitations. The vice-president of the Orgees' Quizzociates, G. Sivakumar, and secretary, G. Kedarnath, spoke.
