TiE Coimbatore Chapter recently organised a lecture on ‘Frugal Marketing.' A release from the organisers said that Jessie Paul, Managing Director, Paul Writer, Bangalore, spoke on the ‘Push' and ‘Pull' methods of marketing.
The Hindu was the media partner for the event.
For many companies a good percentage of their sales come from the ‘Push' method. It was better if they had the ‘Pull' method.
The key reason was that it was easier to get customers.
Companies used the trade show route to market their products and services. But often they did not get their desired results. Customers who picked up brochure for details later forget them. And the companies did not have staff to follow up with the customers. This was where the importance of the ‘Pull' factor came in.
The customers would be attracted to the stalls if only the company staff did their homework to generate interests in their products or services.
The release said that Ms. Paul also spoke about marketing through Internet. Creating websites was fund. But it was important to maintain and update them.
The information provided on such portals should be in such a way that they kindled readers' interests. Companies should avoid presenting complete information.
