CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) should provide copies of past year B.Ed. entrance examination papers to applicants, the Tamil Nadu Information Commission has ruled in an order issued late last year.

The order was passed by the Commission during its enquiry into an appeal by a petitioner whose request for the copies was not answered by TNOU even after 16 months.

It said that TNOU's response that the copies could not be provided as it was not part of the internal University regulations was over-ridden by Section 22 of the RTI Act and directed the University to supply copies of the paper to the petitioner free of cost.
