ERODE: Artisans affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Viswakarma Kaivinaingargal

Sangam and other organisations staged a day-long protest on Monday.

The protesting artisans demanded inclusion of the Viswakarma community in the most backward class list, house site pattas, opposed the

transfer of welfare boards to the Revenue Department.

They also sought

a ban on online trading in commodities, relief of gold smiths affected by rise in gold prices and control of price rise.
