Relatives of a 23-year-old woman who died at the Rajiv Gandhi Women and Child Hospital staged a day-long protest on Sunday.

The woman, who hailed from near Villupuram, was admitted to the hospital on April 4.

On Sunday morning, she delivered a still born child and then suffered from excessive bleeding. She was put on ventilator and died at 4.30 p.m., hospital officials said.

The protesters and relatives who gathered outside the hospital on Sunday morning continued to protest outside the hospital throughout the day.

The body will be sent for post-mortem on Monday, officials said.
