The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has invited proposals from schools, colleges and universities in Vellore district for obtaining grants-in-aid for having conducted or for the conduct of various programmes under the National Programme for Youth and Adolescent Development (NPYAD) for the year 2012-13.

According to a release from C. Paul Suthantharadhas, District Sports Officer, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, Vellore Unit, the institutions are eligible for grants-in-aid for having conducted the following programmes under the different categories:

Promotion of National Integration: national integration camps, inter-State youth exchange programmes, multi-cultural activities based on national integration, and state youth festivals.

Promotion of adventure: Adventure development programmes at the basic and intermediate level, adventure development training and awareness camps, seminars, exhibitions and festivals conducted with the help of adventure experts.

Development and empowerment of adolescents: Camps to bring out the latent talent in the youth, opinion meetings and residential camps.

The necessary application forms for claiming the grants can be downloaded from the website, www.yas.nic.in. Schools, colleges and universities in Vellore district should sent the completed application forms to the District Sports Officer, Nethaji Stadium, Vellore-632001 before January 31, 2013.
