A 74-year-old farmer on Wednesday submitted a petition to Superintendent of Police charging Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare K.V. Ramalingam with grabbing his house in Pudur Panchayat.

K.N. Muthusamy said in the petition that the Minister, a person named Senthilrajan and president of Pudur Panchayat Prakash had obtained his signature forcibly and got the house measuring 3,232 square feet registered in Mr. Ramalingam’s name at the Sub-Registrar Office in Avalpoondurai last May.

“Without making payment for the property, Senthilrajan kept me in confinement at the behest of the Minister and for the next three months I was tortured and beaten up by some persons. When they threatened to murder me, I escaped from Senthilrajan's house," the farmer said. “I kept wandering for the last three months in Rameswaram and Kanyakumari. I was brought here by the police from Chennai following a petition filed in the High Court by my sister, seeking a direction to the police to locate me.”
