: State Bank of Travancore has announced a two-day Women Entrepreneur Development Programme (WEDP) in Tiruchi on October 3 and 4 at the Tiruchi Centre of Periyar TBI (Technology Business Incubator), Vallam.

In a press release, A.P. Aruna, Chief Executive Officer In-Charge, Periyar TBI, said 50 women will be attending the programme to be inaugurated by General Manager, Head Office, State Bank of Travancore, Tiruvananthapuram.

Officials from District Industries Centre, Khadi and Village Industries’ Board, Periyar TBI and State Bank of Travancore speak about business opportunities, and successful women entrepreneurs will share experiences. The essentials of identifying and establishing a viable business venture will be highlighted during the programme, and as a follow-up, assistance in the forms of support for skill development, and technology and management inputs will be provided through modular trainings at Vallam and Tiruchi centres of Periyar TBI.

The trainees will become eligible for loans from the bank.

Those securing financial assistance will be provided with hand-holding support of Periyar TBI under Rajiv Gandhi Udayami Mitra Yojana of the Ministry of MSME. The cost of the training will be met by the scheme.
