A prisoner lodged at the Central Prison has bitten off his tongue. According to sources, A. Khaja Mohideen, 31, who was arrested six months ago, on charges of robbery, was taken to the district court on Tuesday.

He had reportedly become depressed and had bitten off his tongue on the late hours of Tuesday. He was initially given treatment at the prison infirmary and later shifted to the CMCH on Wednesday where he was said to be out of danger.
