Collector S. Jayandhi on Saturday asked the health and municipal officials to take precautionary steps to prevent dengue and other water borne diseases. Presiding over a meeting here, she said there were clear indications that the southwest monsoon had arrived in a few parts of the State. It might lead to water stagnation in low lying areas. Hence, the officials concerned should take necessary steps to prevent dengue and water borne diseases. Mosquito control measures must be taken by municipal, town panchayat and panchayat union officials. Similarly, water stagnation prone areas must be identified so as to drain water as and when required.
