CHENNAI: The prepaid auto system will be implemented this month at important places in the city, such as Central Railway Station, Egmore Railway Station, CMBT-Koyambedu and the airport. The meeting convened to review implementation of revised auto fares, which was scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed to Sunday, at 11 a.m. It will be held at 5th floor, Ezhilagam. An official press release issued by the Joint Transport Commissioner on Thursday said motor vehicle inspectors of the department would be deployed at important places during peak hours till the completion of calibration of auto fare metres. Inspectors were already patrolling the Central, Egmore stations and CMBT-Koyambedu, the release said.
