Work on replacing a 40-year-old ring main gear unit at Government Stanley Medical College Hospital was completed and power supply resumed on Sunday.

The Public Works Department (electricals) had taken up work on November 8 for replacing the unit, which supplied 11,000 volts of electricity for the hospital. They were also working on providing an electricity connection for the newly constructed multi-storey block. Ten generators were put in place to provide temporary power supply for the entire hospital during the three days.
