COIMBATORE: The Department of Posts will release a commemorative postage stamp on The Madras Regiment on May 28 at The Madras Regimental Centre at Wellington in the Nilgiris.

The Rs.5 denomination stamp will be released by Chief Postmaster General, Tamil Nadu Circle S.K. Chakrabarthi, in the presence of Brigadier V.P. Kashyap, Commandant of the centre.

The Coimbatore Head Post Office’s Philatelic Bureau will have an extension counter at the venue to sell the stamp and brochure on the regiment, according to a press release from Director of Postal Services, Western Region, Mervyn Alexander.

The stamp will be sold at the philatelic bureaux of the Coimbatore Head Post Office and other select post offices.

The information sheets and blank First Day Covers will be available at the bureaux at Rs.2 each.

The First Day cancellation will also be provided at the bureaux, the release said.
