The State-wide strike called by the Tamil Nadu Government Employees' Association did not have any adverse impact on the functioning of the administration.

A senior official said approximately 35,000 employees took part in the strike. The “poor response” was attributed to the government's recent announcement of a package for assistants and junior assistants.

However, a press release issued by the Association claimed that the strike had affected the working of the government.
