Governor administers pledge in Tamil

CHENNAI: Poongothai Aladi Aruna was on Friday sworn in Information Technology Minister at a function at Raj Bhavan here.

Governor Surjit Singh Barnala administered the pledge in Tamil. Her senior Cabinet colleagues K.Anbazhagan, Durai Murugan, Arcot N.Veeraswami, M.K. Stalin, Veerapandi S. Arumugham, K. Ponmudy and Ko.Si.Mani were among those present.

Soon after the function, she went to Sri Ramachandra Medical College Hospital to meet Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

Talking to presspersons, she said that the Chief Minister had shown immense faith in her by giving her the IT portfolio.

She would try to rise up to his expectations. Mr. Karunanidhi earlier held the IT portfolio. With this, the total number of Ministers in the Cabinet rises to 30. Three of them are women.
