CHENNAI: A traffic police constable who took bribe from a motorcyclist was arrested by Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption officials here on Friday.

According to sources, M. Baskaran (46) of Korattur was stopped by constable S. Murugesan (30) at Arumbakkam. Since Baskaran did not have the insurance papers with him, the head constable demanded Rs.500 to avoid seizure of motorcycle and a case being registered.

Baskaran lodged a complaint with the DVAC who arrested Murugesan. The accused was remanded to judicial custody, the sources added.
