The Nolambur police station was the scene of some dramatic moments when a sub inspector and a lady constable alleged ill-treatment at the hands of their superior. Police sources said Nolambur inspector Jayachandran hid a service rifle on Tuesday night to check the alertness of his subordinates. On Wednesday morning, he telephoned the station and asked sub inspector Subramanian and constable Punitha about the rifle. They were unaware that it was missing. An irked Jayachandran shouted at the SI and constable. The SI allegedly collapsed and constable wept profusely. Following this, the two were admitted to a private hospital in Mogappair West. Subramanian claimed that Jayachandran repeatedly abused his subordinates and ill-treated them on duty, sources added.

Senior police officers of the zone are probing the matter further.
