The practical examinations for Plus-Two students in the city will begin on February 4 and conclude by February 14.

According to Chief Educational Officer A. Gnanagowri, a total of 36,437 from 306 schools in Coimbatore district would take the public examinations this year. This includes 16,058 boys and 20,379 girls.

A total of 286 Government, aided, corporation and private matriculation schools have been chosen as venues for these practical examinations. While 29,304 were from the Coimbatore Educational District, the remaining 7,133 are from Pollachi Educational District, she said.

The practical examinations would be held in two batches to facilitate the availability of examination invigilators. The schools had been instructed to conduct the examinations according to government norms. The schools should contact the respective Assistant Executive Engineers of Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) and inform them of the examination timings so that the load shedding could be re-scheduled accordingly, Ms. Gnanagowri added.
