Members of the Latchiya Kudumbam, Makkal Urimai Pathukaapur Maiyam, Thiyagasudar Maruvalvu Arakattalai and New India Labour Union came on bicycles from Tiruchengode to the District Collectorate here on Wednesday urging the district administration to take steps to unveil the renovated statue of former Chief Minister Kamaraj.

A cement statue was installed there in 1988 and was replaced with a bronze statue in 2009. But it was yet to be unveiled. The members who aged between 35 and 75 submitted a petition in this regard to the Collector.
