Joint Commissioner inspects the proposed site
ERODE: The district administration has planned to construct a new guest house inside the Kalingarayan guest house premises at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.42 crore.
Joint Commissioner for Revenue Administration V. Palani Kumar inspected the proposed construction site and discussed about the project with the senior officials of various departments here on Saturday.
The district administration had already submitted a proposal to the government for the construction of a new guest house following repeated requests. The new guest house would have two floors with a VVIP suite and eight rooms.
The building would also have a lift facility.
The administration had planned to demolish a few old buildings inside the Kalingarayan guest house premises to facilitate the construction of the new guest house.
Mr. Palani Kumar also inspected the sites selected for the construction of a new conference hall and an office for the District Differently Abled Welfare Department. The administration had planned to construct the conference hall at a cost of Rs. 1.10 crore on 8,500 sq ft of land located opposite to the District Treasury. The office for the Differently Abled Welfare Department will be built at a cost of Rs. 31.50 lakh.
Collector R. Sudalaikannan and senior officials accompanied the Joint Commissioner during the inspection.
