K Kasturirangan, Member, Planning Commission, lauded BHEL’s development of cutting edge technology and cost competitiveness for achieving success during his visit to its Tiruchi unit on Thursday.
With its technological competence and working culture, BHEL was one of the best public sector undertakings in the country, Mr. Kasthurirangam said addressing senior executives. The model adopted by BHEL was the most successful one, he said.
Senior officials briefed Mr. Kasturirangan about BHEL’s preparedness to fulfil the national mission on Advanced Ultra Supercrital Boiler to improve efficiency and reduce carbon footprint. Accompanied by O. P. Bhutani, Director (Engineering & Research & Development), BHEL, and A.K. Verma, Advisor, Science & Technology, Government of India, Mr. Kasthurirangam visited the integrated gasification combined cycle plant where BHEL has developed a model to put up a higher scale capacity. A.V. Krishnan, Executive Director, BHEL, Tiruchi, made a presentation on the main products and services offered, manufacturing resources, human resources, financial parameters, technological capability, capacity augmentation, capital investments, CSR activities and new initiatives.
