DINDIGUL: Photographing beneficiaries of ‘Kalaignar Insurance Scheme for life saving treatments’ in Natham block will take place from September 26.

The beneficiaries and all their family members should go to the special camps at a time and get photographed, Collector M. Vallalar said in a press release here on Tuesday.

If any member of the family failed to take photograph at these special centres, they need to wait for three months to apply in person to get photographed under this scheme. People should avail this facility without fail, he advised.

A total of 17,768 persons were benefited through special photographing camps at Kodaikanal and 60,559 beneficiaries in Vedasandur blocks.

Similar camps would be held in other blocks also.

The insurance scheme had ensured that poor and low income families got free treatment at government and private hospitals for serious ailments.

The families whose income was less than Rs.72,000 were eligible to be beneficiaries of the scheme.

The government would pay the premium for every beneficiary for an insurance cover for Rs.1 lakh for a four year period.

The government had already identified six hospitals in the district and 15 hospitals in major cities to provide advanced medical care.
