P. Senthil Murugan, son of former Revenue Minister I. Periasamy, appeared before the district court here on Tuesday in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

Earlier, a charge-sheet was filed at the vigilance and anti-corruption court against Mr. Periasamy, his wife, and two sons, stating that he had acquired disproportionate assets during his tenure as Minister from May 13, 2006 to March 31, 2010. Summons were issued to Mr. Periasamy and his family members asking them to appear at the court on Tuesday.

However, only Mr. Senthil Murugan appeared before Judge P. Karunanidhi on Tuesday and the lawyers appearing for the others told the judge that they did not receive the summons. Following this, the judge adjourned the hearing to March 19 and directed that summons be issued again to the former Minister and his family members.
