The passport office, Coimbatore, will remain closed on November 15 (Friday) on account of Muharram. Those who have made online appointment for submission of applications on November 15 are requested to turn up on November 14 (Thursday).

In a press release, Passport Officer S. Sasikumar has said that the holiday on account of Muharram was originally listed for November 14 (Thursday). Hence, the Passport Office had not given online appointments on November 14. With the sighting of the moon and Muharram being observed on November 15, he said that all those who had made appointments for November 15 could turn up on November 14 at the scheduled time at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) and submit their applications.

All the applicants are being communicated about the change in appointment date through SMS on the mobile numbers given in the application form. Those who cannot come on November 14 were asked to reschedule their appointment to a later date.
