PSKs functioning successfully in Tiruchi and Thanjavur

Regional Passport Office here has ordered the closure of District Passport Cells functioning at the collectorates in the eight central districts which come under its jurisdiction from February 1.

The decision to close the DPCs was following the successful functioning of Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) in Tiruchi and Thanjavur, which covered all the eight districts.

“From February 1, applications will not be accepted at the DPCs functioning at the collector’s offices and people can approach the nearest PSKs for submission of passport applications,” a press release from K.Balamurugan, Passport Officer, said here on Friday. However, the DPCs functioning in Pudukottai and Nagapattinam collectorates will be converted into online application making centres.
