Distribution of badges of sacrifice and certificates of honour marked a passing out parade at the historic Shri Nagesh Barracks of the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) in Wellington on Saturday.

The chief guest was Brigadier L.C. Paul, Senior Instructor, A Division, Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington.

Among the recipients were the mother of late Sepoy Nagalingam, widow of late Sepoy R. Panneer Selvam and mother of late Sepoy K.S. Ravindran of the MRC who had sacrificed their lives in various anti-terrorist operations. Earlier, an impressive passing out parade was held.

A total of 145 recruits of four training companies of the centre passed out in the traditional, colourful and emotional ceremony. Brigadier Paul reviewed the parade and gave away medals to the best recruits and to the Parade Commander.

Among those present were Nilgiris Collector Archana Patnaik, many senior and student officers of the DSSC, Junior Commissioned Officers and parents and relatives of the recruits.
