The Mannargudi–Tiruchi–Mannargudi diesel electric multiple unit (DEMU) passenger trains have been extended up to Manamadurai from Thursday (April 6) as special trains.
The Mannargudi–Manamadurai trains will run as special trains from April 6 to June 30 and will be operated via Nidamangalam, Thanjavur, Tiruchi, Pudukottai, and Karaikudi.
The trains-06805/06807-will ply between Mannargudi and Manamadurai, and trains-06808/06806-will ply between Manamadurai and Mannargudi, according to a press release of the Tiruchi Railway Division issued here on Thursday.
Trailer coaches of this DEMU train is provided with toilet facilities, for the first time. BG line opening on April 6
The newly converted broad gauge section between Mayiladuthurai and Tiruvarur would be opened for goods traffic from April 6.
A release issued by M. K. Gopinath, Public Relations Officer, Tiruchi Railway division, on Thursday called upon the public to be cautious while using the level-crossing gates and track premises in the section.
