Coimbatore: The forest officials here have deployed personnel to monitor the movement of a three-year-old panther that strayed into human habitations between Madukkarai and Sundarapuram area.

The panther was first sighted by the residents and the reports reaching here said that the big cat was seen hiding in a farm after dawn. Conservator of Forests, Coimbatore Circle, R. Kannan, District Forest Officer I. Anwardeen and Forest Veterinarian N.S. Manoharan are camping at the site to plan measures to relocate the panther. The panther in the last 32 hours had killed two goats.
