CHENNAI: Private school managements across the State will soon be asked to fill questionnaires with details on their land, buildings, staff strength and fee structures. The forms will be circulated by the respective Chief and District Education officers.
Compilation of data
This data will be collected and compiled by the first week of February, it was decided on Wednesday at a meeting chaired by the former Judge of the Madras High Court, K. Govindarajan, who heads the committee constituted by the School Education Department to regulate fee structures in private schools across the State under the Tamil Nadu Schools (Regulation of Collection of Fee) Act 2009.
According to sources in the School Education Department, officials would also conduct surprise checks in schools to verify if the data provided in the forms are correct.
Depending on the final data available, schools would be categorised according to their fee structures and corresponding facilities, sources added.
